No problem,I agree some mismatches but overall it was a fun card.

I've been really looking forward to Spongs debut and he didn't disappoint.

It was a walk in the park for him,his opponent was completely out matched and we didn't really find out anything we didn't already know about him or what his MMA games like, but still,It was fun watching a striker of that caliber go to town.

He's got to get the standing 8 count out of his head and learn to follow a hurt opponent down though Laughing

Rumble made me piss when he said after the fight"he might know what it's like to be hit by a HW,but I showed him what it's like to be hit by a 170lber" what bollox,he's a big 205er,he was the bigger fighter of the two.

You could definitely tell that he is benefiting from training with Spong, his kicks and overall striking looked much improved and the KO was a thing of beauty.

Good to see Arlovski continuing to stay on track,he's definitely no top HW anymore, but he's still good enough to be given another shot in the UFC.

    Also nice sub from JZ.

Blackzillians really putting on a good show. The walking away after the knockdown was funny, he knew the ref would call it a KO, Maby he is better not following anyone down a risking a sub off their back because if the ref doesnt stop it the other guy has to stand up for the restart standing anyway.

Rumble is a good sized 205er like you say Payne he was the bigger guy, he certainly looked bigger against Belfort and I think if he gets called up to the UFC again wouldnt be undersized against anyone but Jones. Look at the top Glover, Machida, Shogun, Hendo etc.. I reckon he is in the right weight class despite skipping out 185 in his move up. Just checked and Fightmatrix have him in the top 15 after that win. UFC will take him back after 1 more win, Its not like he is going to miss weght at 205.

If JZ can stay winning I reckon he could get a call from UFC when SF goes belly up. Maby a Josh Thompson rematch in SF, I think thats a winable fight for him and Josh has a lot of recognition for the Gil fights.

Torres time with Blackzillians maby didnt help much, those hands are starting to look slow and sloppy, a few years back say even in the Mizugaki fight he looked a lot quicker he is slowing and its not uncommon for such a light guy on the wrong side of 30. This was a missmatch and he lost, I that a guy who many saw as top 3/5 p4p guys of all time under 155 is loosing to a bearly top 50 guy he should consider calling it a day. I love the guy but it id s long road back to the top from here. Im sure OneFC or Bellator would take him for name value but there are some fights I see him loosing there.

AA diserves called back to the UFC, Dana said he has to get a big win 1st

Rumble signed a 3 fight deal with WSOF, I wonder who they got for him next, I doubt Spong would get such a step up for a while and they are teammates.

Didny dealise Thiago Silva was with the Blackzillians too

Yeah Torres is looking gun shy now,he just doesn't have that killer instinct in him any more. He's certainly not the same guy from the WEC.

I wonder if WOSF are going to have their fighters on locked contracts or will they let there fighters move on if the UFC come calling.

Nice to see Torres lose again the biggest hype job and padded record in MMA finally getting found out.

I keep hearing Torres is either gun shy or on the decline personally I don't think he was ever that good and the competition is just far better now than 3-4 years.

There is some truth to that,no doubt, but there is also no doubt the Torres of today fights nothing like the one in the WEC.

Beebe(11-1 at the time),Maeda(23-4-2),Tapia(10-0-1),Mizugaki(11-2-2),Bowles (7-0),Benavidez (11-1)and Valencia(12-5) were hardly a run of bums he fought in the WEC to pad his record.

Lads let me point something out here, Torrest started his career in 2000, From 2002 to 2009 he always around top 5 ranked, spending most of that time as 1st ranked. Thats 7 years of dominance.

You gotta show some respect. Say what you want thats where he was ranked, the tallent might not have been what it is today at the lighter weights but he was the man at 135 for 7 years, Jones has been the man at Lhw for 2 years. Gotta gets some perspective about legends of the sport.

Torres climbed to the top of the sport and stayed there for a long, long time. Longer than Wands reign at Lhw that had a few cans along the way too. Now at 31 (Remember the ligher rarely stay sharp on the wrong side of 30) and near 50 fights later he is "Over rated" and has a padded record?

Mightymouse the 125lbs champ in a competitive fight? Benavidez, 2 weight title contender or 10-2 Bowles who are top 5 all timers in the weight class? Come off it lads ill admit he is past his best but he is still a legend. Along with Aldo and Faber he is the top 3 of all time under 155lbs (Id say 3rd because of weaker competition)
