Most top 10 wins in order (From Sherdog Forum, Great read)

    Post  rudeboyben84 on Sun Jul 08, 2012 4:52 pm

The list is based on rankings from reputable sites only: sherdog, "mma media top 10", black belt magazine, mmanews, mmaweekly, mmafighting, independent world mma rankings, mma writer's top 10.... back to the year of 2000.
no fightmatrix or other questionable ranking sites/systems!
the research took me a lot of time. i just wanted to know which current fighter had the most quality wins, it's not about who is the best p4p or whatever.

a top 10 win counts only when you fight him on the weight where he is ranked at.

example: fedor defeated lindland(ranked mw). it doesn't count because he fought fedor at hw.

anderson's ww wins count because he fought them at their own weight.

It isnt a continuation of the Fedor vs Anderson arguement on the other thread but I though this was a good read. The guy really seems to have done a much better job of doing what I did on the other Thread in breaking down big wins.

You cant help feel Frustrated for Melendez who has 6, More top 10 wins than Jon Jones, more than the UFC Lw's is stuck in strikeforce where he is going to be thrown 2 Journeymen a year tops when he could be doing damage in the UFC.

How long is his contract again? I remember he signed a new one at a bad time. Sad

I wonder if guys like BJ, Hendo and Nog will add any more top 10 ranked names on to their record?

You have to remember when looking at stats like this is that 'top ten' is both subjective and arbitrary.

Going by most top 15 wins or top 5 wins would be just as useful, and would show a different hierarchy (probably, I haven't actually checked)

Though it's still interesting and a reasonable representation of a fighters career achievements.
