I was like the crowd last night,at the start of the fight,I was hoping guida would pull off the upset, but after watching his tactics for a couple of rounds,i was soon praying that Gray would spark him out in the middle of one of his jogs.

so glad the judges awarded the win to the fighter.

Obviously guida looked more active,he'd just ran a fucking marathon, but it was gray that was pushing the fight and even though he was chasing a harmless shadow for 99% of the fight,he did actually land more strikes in this fight.

I get that he didn't need to stand in front of Gray,so movement was the smart option, but shit your supposed to use movement to avoid and then set up space to get your own shots off, just like Cruz does, but after the first round, guida was just running around the cage, from one side to the other, forgetting the objective to win a fight was to actually hit your opponent.

After that performance,Guida can forget about getting any where near a UFC title shot,so I think Guida should step up and take a fight against Melendez in Strikeforce.

Good shout! Guida should be fed to Melendez as punishment for his crimes.

The judges score this contest 6, 6, Seeevvveeerrrrnnnn, 6

TBH, I thought that Guida had won it, although I have watched it again, and I was wrong.

I'm so glad the judges well 2 of them at least gave Maynard he fight out of spite, spite is such a great thing to use especially in a situation like last night. I thought Guida won 48-47 but he deserved to get shafted for that performance in fact he should have docked points maybe even thrown out of the cage for his "performance".

Had a feeling Lamas would upset Hioki last night just that niggling feeling he gassed and threw the fight away for me. I really like Hioki but he hasn't half been frustrating to watch in the Lamas & Roop fights.

Hioki's another fighters that is suffering from being over hyped on the JMMMA scene, but he is a very good talent no doubt,he is a top 10 fighter.
He's just got to get used to fighting against not only a higher level of FW talent, but strong cardio machines, that not only have alot of answers to submissions and their own dangers, but they will make you work for 15 full minutes.

He fought a great first round against Lamas, but then seemed to just get lazy and casual,I mean how many times did he want to put his neck in the exact same position while he had a good top control position.
If he had of stayed busier and put more effort and urgency into trying to improve his advantageous positions,I believe he would of took one of the remaining 2 rounds and won the fight, but he seemed content on trying to take the slow methodical approach, don't get me wrong, that is exactly what served him so well in Japan and got him the #2 ranking, but I just don't think that is a successful approach against these good Western fighters.

He himself,I believe knows he has to change and improve his game for this level, otherwise he wouldn't of turned down his title shot.
I hope he can because,he is a very good fighter.

I actually Hioki's hype was justified It might be just a mental thing with him he just seems to switch off a lot and listening to to him he doesn't seem that confident of a person. He has beat some top guys and even his defeats have been very close fights apart from the Omigawa fight that was possibly the worst robbery in MMA.

I will say I think Lamas is extremely underrated and at 145 he looks like a threat he is very well rounded and probably deserves a lot more credit than he is getting

Hioki hasn't beaten a real established top level fighter.

There is no fighter in the UFC who could of earned the rank of #2 FW in the world and been took seriously by so many fans,if their best wins were against Hominick and Sandro.

Hioki was extremely overrated. I don't think he's all that good at all, and to think he was next for Aldo? Oh dear. I was very confident that Lamas would beat him, in fact I actually thought Lamas would dominate more than he did. So to be fair, Hioki did better than I thought he would, but he's still very overrated. Borderline top 10 in the division for me, no where near that number 2 spot.

some people considered Sandro as #1 at the time Hioki took him to school, at worst he was top 3.

Is that why you picked Hioki for SOTN...? Wink

Just covering my bases sir, you know how it is! Cool To be fair I did have Lamas to knock him out, give me that Very Happy

The only way I seen Hioki winning was through a great submission, which probably would've warranted SOTN.
