    Hi guys,

Have been a fan of the armbar and the late 606 forum for many years, but from the shadows... Never really got involved in any of the discussions but have read and have had an opinion on almost every topic you guys war back and forth over Wink

Just thought that now im finally going to get involved, i'd introduce myself and make myself known...

Look forward to adding my 10 cents worth and chatting to some fellow hardcore MMA fans....

Apologies if this is a waste of a topic, i didnt know how else to get started!

Lol Bunch of chancers!I'll have to judge the quality of the banter before I start dishing out any money!
Not sure if anyones touched on it on the weekend but what are you guys thoughts on Lesnar being at the event on Saturday and Dana hinting at a return?

You'll get a good bit of banter on here mate Very Happy

As for the Lesnar thing, apparently there was a meeting between him and Dana, that "did not go well" according to reports. I doubt we'll see him back in the octagon to be honest.

Welcome mate, Anyone with an Avatar like that is a friend of mine! Twisted Evil

I heard its all part of a WWE storyline that Dana is playing along with.

If Lesnar wants to come back to MMA id be happy to see him but he reminds me off Sapp. He had some early luck against Smaller fighters who where overwhelemed by his size... knocked them over and Hammer fisted silly. Cain and Overeem breazed through their fights with him once they saw his obvious flaw (which I dont believe he ever can or will try and fix) Carwin nearly did the same and Id bet a months wage he would finish Lesnar in a rematch.

If he did come back, throw him in with Nelson, Browne or Struve... I want to see him work his way back to being relevant after narrowly escaping 3 back to back losses.

Doesnt WWE pay far more than the UFC? Also he is under contract with WWE for a year so I dont think him talking to them was more than a WWE storyline or a publicity stunt.

Im guessing if he isnt training MMA he isnt fighting MMA any time soon.

That brings back painful memories dude, I remember having £250 on Carwin to win the first fight, was jumping about the fucking house near the end of the 1st round, convinced I had the cash in the bag. Then pale

    Thanks mate

If he did come back i think the likes of Nelson, Browne and Struve being about his level to be honest, any of the current title contenders would finish him with ease, - Lets just hope he stays in WWE where Paul Heyman can fight his battles for him! Very Happy

However - I would like to see the rubber match between him and Mir

According to Dave Meltzer Lesnar was in Vegas to shop a co-promotion venture with the WWE & UFC and Dana wasn't receptive to the idea, Oh and a welcome to the armbar from me too.

Sammy I was thinking exactly the same about Mir vs lesnar, always good to watch 2 guys that hate each other going at it!

I only live a stones throw away from newport, I'm from the big city. You weren't 1 of the guys featured on that bouncers programme a few months back were you Very Happy

There was a good gym years ago I used to go to that shut down threw lack of funding. I've been meaning to go check out 1 that's in Whitchurch but I just don't have time. Used to travel up the sticks to places by ponty but all those boys seemed to be on the gear.

There's a couple in Newport isn't there. I've been to a few shows in Newport, semi pro mainly but a few pro fights thrown in. Nathan beer is a good fighter from Newport, do you know of him? I've seen a few of his fights, well rounded!

They have shows in Newport Centre quite often, Pain Pit... There's one end of June I believe!
As for clubs, Newport MMA is meant to be pretty decent, heard good things about it, been meaning to go but it clashes with rugby... Will have a look now the seasons done and dusted! Have done quite a few classes at Exert Fitness which is Rus Smiths gym - he's fought in Bamma a few times. Signed to G4.. I know of Nathan Beer too, good fighter and his cardio is up there!

WWE wont pay too much more than what Brock was making in the UFC, and im not sure about Brock but i think most of the guys on big money work around 200 dates a year.

Brock got 5mil for his own year deal but he's only asked to work about 100 days over the year. Apparently there's a lot of the wrestlers who are really pissed off about it. CM Punk has demanded a raise. He was earning a lot less, working well over twice as many shows and carrying the company pretty much by himself at times.
