2 huge Kickboxing events in 2 days! (K1 is back!)

    Post  manschesthair_utd on Thu Apr 26, 2012 9:35 pm

The Glory and K1 events look awesome and since they are held 1 day apart, and both featuring a -70kg tournament they are also begging to be compared.
Below are the details about the cards, any kickboxing fans excited about this?
    and which card is better?

***NB, for those who dont know, K1 was bought out by some dutch fella and he has some kind of talent sharing deal with "its showtime" but not with Golden glory.
...i have no clue on the details but the bottom line is those GG fighters wont be fighting in K1 anytime soon, so these two promotions are in direct competition for the most kickboxing prestigious tournament of the year!

26th May, Ericsson Globe Stockholm, Sweden. (same place as UFC)

Super fights 1 and 3 in the K1 event are a little bit of a shock.

Badr Hari back in K-1 will be great to see, are these qualifiers for the GP? Whats CC's opponent like? I wonder if Mirko will do well in K-1, there a lot of the old guard past their best Id like to see him fight or rematch.

I had heard Schilt was supposed to fight Sergei? would have loved to see them in an MMA fight. Sergei vs Lopez is cracking though, Lopez is a good fighter, he fights between Hw and Lhw doesnt he? Im I imagining this or is Sergei the only other Hw apart from Barnett, Cormier and Fedor who technically has still a fight left on his SF contract or was he cut with all the GG/UFC bad blood?

Zimmerman gets a title shot by beating Le Banner and they arent using Le Banner on their card? Weird that, Granted he is far past his best but he beat Spong not too long ago.

Glad to see the Kickboxing back on, Ill be interested to see GG cards with a mix of MMA too. It might be a good opertunity for more crossover figths.

dont know much about Mirko's opponent apart from that he is Spanish and lost a decision to Spong last year.
    record 68-9 (27 KOs)

probably not a world beater but definitley not some tomato can, good fight i think!
