I love how you're all quick to dismiss Dana's role in the good things that happen in the sport, UFC purchasing Strikeforce for example, then shit on him and hold him wholly responsible for the bad things like this.
It is odd that Torres has been cut straight away whilst Rashad (whose comments were alot worse) gets off with a telling off. I don't believe it's a case favouritism though, why would they cut a fighter who as Ben rightfully says is one of the GOAT and is one of the only viable title contenders in an already thin weight class. Torres also just so happens to be probably the second most popular lighter weight fighter after Urjah Faber, so it wouldn't make sense to fire him for nothing.
Dana said in an interview with Ariel Helwani that the difference between Forrest and Rashads incidents and this Torres one is that when he spoke to the former, they accepted they were wrong and apologised, from what he said in that same interview it appears Miguel didn't show remorse. Suppose we'll find out more soon.
One thing I will say though is the backlash from the fans has been huge, a quick look at all the major forums, Dana's twitter, UFC's Facebook, and it's clear Torres' fans are furious. Hopefully ZUFFA will take notice and reinstate Torres, enough commotion has been made.
