In my opinion, that fight between Hendo and Shogun was the greatest MMA fight of all time, other people may disagree but thats my opinion. Hendo won a very close decision, I don't understand how none of the judges gave the last round a 10-8 to Shogun, but I guess we can't really complain after that fight, AMAZING!

Also let's not forget about Wanderlei knocking out Cung Le! Was it an early stoppage? This split views on the armbar, personally I think it was an early stoppage, but who knows how much longer Le could have lasted because his face was a mess.

Faber looked very impressive as well, I thought Bowles would beat him and Faber walked through him, be interesting to see whether he can get the job done in the third fight against Cruz.

Obviously there was all the other bouts, but Henderson-Shogun is the main talking point, rematch!!!

Holy god that was EPIC! I think you might be right, best of all time?! Glad Hendo got the nod, he's my fave fighter! Love when he popped his gum shield out at the end, and popped his fake teeth in! What a legend. Incredible endurance/heart from Shogun too.

Le gassed in the Wandy fight, and was mostly dominating with his kicks before then. I think Wandy will lose if he steps up in competition. Good time to call it a day?

Faber looks excellent, i think he'll have learned alot from the last Cruz fight and has a great shot of beating him.

Delighted for Kampmann although it should have been a UD not a SD for sure!! Thought he was gonna get fucked over again!

Some good fights on the undercard, McDonald and Weidman also looked great.

Anyone seen the Alvarez fight? Apparently pretty epic also....

just listened to the post-fight. Kampann card had a mistake on it, should have been a UD

Maybe they thought that he didn't do all that much damage?
I would probably have made it 10-8.

Some people have said that the third should have been 10-8 Hendo
but I thought that as Shogun came back at the end 10-9 would be better.

    Absolutely brilliant fight.

Top night of fights Great main events Tonight in both the UFC & Bellator easily FOTY candiates.

Good card overall Bonnar fight was disappointing but he was right getting the W was more important then getting involved in a war. Faber looked great great finish and for me Story threw that fight away he was badly gassed in the 2nd. The Le stoppage was very poor sure Le was in a bad way physically but to me he was clearly doing enough to survive the Round Great win Silva though.

Great Main event as cliched as it sounds there was no losers tonight and I'll be honest the fight could have gone either way you couldn't complain I'm still amazed Shogun survived the 5 Rounds Hendo just battered him early on in 1 & 3 he showed a ton of heart.

Surely the logical move is to set up Hendo vs Evans around spring next year.

If any of the judges scored the last round 10-8 Shogun, that would have rendered the fight a draw on their cards.

    Which is why they didn't.

thought it was an awesome fight between shogun and hendo slow start by shogun and i thought he was a gonna then turned table and then came on strong end of fight.Best of it was no bad blood between either of them and both turned up for a row great stuff. i do think tho shoguns days are rapidly coming to an end to many injuries imo.

cung le vs silva was quality match up cung le showing a wide variety of strikes troubled silva at times then the onslaught from the axe murderer proved to much for cung le. Was the stoppage premature? I'm not so sure as cung le was hurt and took few hefty knees to his boat race .

I was thinking the exact same thing about shogun, I thought the griffin fight may have been nothing more than catching griffin at the right time. 1 thing that worried me about shogun especially in the first 3rds was how he really just fights in spurts now and I was wondering if that's due to the fact his gas tank isn't as good as it should be due to injuries. How wrong I was tho! Sure he may not be as quick and explosive as he was when he was knocking Machida out but he still has plenty of fight in him.

Truly fantastic and epic fight from 2 true warriors. You could argue that they are the 2 best finishers in the lhw division and it's a credit to both men that they were able to make it to the last bell. Could anyone else have survived those h-bombs? I don't think so. And it's not often shogun hurts someone without getting the finish.

Well done to wandy, seeing him win and breaking my sofa from jumping up and down was well worth it!!

A draw would not have been a true reflection of the fight. Hendo utterly battered Shogun for the first 3 rounds and the fourth round was even. Shogun won 1 round clearly and while he controlled the entire round you can't get a draw for getting your ass utterly handed to you. Shogun certainly didn't look like a winner last night. If Hendo hadn't gassed so badly half way through the 4th Shogun wouldn't have had any rounds.

Wandi stoppage needs to be looked at purely because the punches that stopped the fight were to the back of the head. Who was the referee? Cung's gastank cost him the fight. He was winning the fight easily until he gassed at about 3 seconds into the second round.

Best performance I've ever seen from Faber.

    Kampmann fought well.

Bonnar fought smart for a change.

Headline fight was awesome. I had the fight 47/47 with the last round a 10-8 for Shogun. I have no idea what was keeping Shogun upright in the early rounds, and Hendo looked out on his feet in the last two, seriously wonder what someone has to do to KO Hendo.

Faber looked really good against a very dangerous fighter and Wandy fought a good fight also, didn't get ragged like we've seen in the past, Le looked well out of shape though, going to have to seriously consider waiting until after the weigh ins before making future predictions.

I was in Edinburgh most of the weekend, and didn't get the chance to see the undercard, just going to try and find them on t'interweb.

I wonder who Hendo gets next. I said last night that I'd like to see him rematch Ramplod in Japan, but I was thinking about the question Dana was asked last night about the UFC in Brazil next summer with Anderson headlining. I think Anderson will fight Chael in March, and lose. Anderson vs Hendo at 205 in Brazil? Would give Hendo a good break after this fight.

    Post  payneNglory1 Sun Nov 20, 2011 8:30 pm

The main event was an epic fight, absolutely brilliant.

I personally thought it should of been a draw,I had the first rd close but gave it Hendo, the 2nd and 3 were easy Hendo rds but I wouldn't of scored either as a 10-8,Hendo had shogun hurt badly but that was for short periods,Shogun was still competitive for the majority of each rd,then I think the last 2 rds were easy enough to score for shogun, though the last rd should of been a 10-8 Shogun.
Shogun landed over 70 punches and controlled every second of the remaining 5 minutes, while not taking any damage,I think Fightmetric had it something like 76 punches landed for Shogun to hendo's 8,clear 10-8 rd for me.
    If it was a 3 rd fight,then Hendo was a clear winner,but it wasn't.

But how can you really complain when we were treated to such a spectacle.
I'm not interested in either one fighting anyone else next, there is unfinished business and I really want to see them finish this battle, please dana make them rematch as soon as both are healthy again, which will probably be at least 6 months for them both to recover from that war.

    Fightmetric stats:
    http://blog.fightmetric.com/2011/11/henderson-vs-shogun-official-ufc.html

So happy for Wandi, certainly showed us all that his chin hasn't gone,he took some vicious shots from Cung and bounced straight back from them all, luckily for Wandi,Cung only has 6-7 minutes of gas in his tank, but still a great fight and I'll be happy to see them both fighting again in the UFC.
Stoppage did seem abit premature at first, but on replays,I think after that big knee,Cung was done.

Faber looked great, his power, speed and movement was all on point.
I thought bowles would be the one who was more likely be the one to have the power to drop Faber,I was completely wrong,Faber destroyed him.

Good old Kampmann, really thought he was going to get screwed again but thankfully the judges made the right decision, even though the initial S/D was bollox, luckily it didn't matter to the result and they changed it to the proper UD afterwards.

Bonner might not of put on a performance like we are used to from him,but I have no complaints,he absolutely dominated Kingsbury and showed us all, kingsbury is a far way from Bonners level.
Bonner for me is the standard to get past,if you have ideas of making a name for yourself in this division.

hard to really say anything about the two Spike TV fights apart from, fooking hell that was quick,Bader came out and destroyed Brilz just like the Janitor did in his last fight,(raises questions about Lil Nog's power maybe) and McDonald showed us just why he's so highly regarded as a future star of the division,by just walking through Soto.

all i have to say about Weidman is I've firmly got my seat on his bandwagon,I think he is without a doubt a soon to be title contender in the MW division.
I think he'll become a better version of Sonnen,he has all his tools,(maybe better,he still has some proving to do)plus a great BJJ game.
MW's be on alert, this boys coming for you.

Tibau - Dos Anjos was a good fight, can't see how one judge scored it for Dos Anjos, thought Tibau had control of most of the fight and landed the more effective punches.
Tibau fits in a similar category as Bonner for me,he is the measuring stick for the division.
Though saying that I think Dos Anjos still has some good wins in him in this division.

Torres didn't set the stage on fire but he still easily beat Pace.
Pace has to be worried for his job,1-2 at BW,sorry you can't really class him as a BW since he hasn't yet fought at BW in the UFC,every one of his 3 UFC fights have had to be catchweight fights.
2 missed wieghts and back to back losses,i'll be surprised if he gets another chance at BW or at all(6 pounds for a 135er was rediculas, that was nearly 5% over)

Seth did a good job beating Brown, but if you can't defend the choke at this stage,i don't think the UFC is the place Brown needs to be.
Still a good win for Seth.

    Castillo basically dominated Bailey.
The way the fight started,i thought castillo was just going to keep bailey on his back and ride him out for 3 rds,but with about a minute of the rd left,he proper opened up and finished Bailey off in style,it was nice.

Overall a very good card i thought, topped of with a fight we'll be talking about for years.

Just seen the card and the main event was EPIC. Has to be the fight of the year if not of all time. If anything I was more shocked seeing Shogun have more cardio than Hendo at the end. Loved seeing Hendo's corner pick him up and send him out for the 5th.

It was absolutely criminal how poorly this card was promoted and it delivered off the scale results. The main event would be an unbelievable fight in Japan and I'm surprised Dana didn't try and put it on that card.

Thank fuck for 5 round fights even tho Josh Rosenthal needed reminding from Hendo.

I'd go with all of those except Shogun-Hendo. That should be a one and done affair.

Hendo vs Ramplod in Japan would work for me, and then Shogun vs Ramplod whenever Shogun is ready to come back. Hendo vs Anderson at 205 in Brazil in the summer. Sonnen will have the middleweight strap and Hendo vs Sonnen would just be Hendo-Shields all over again. Machida and Evans have Bones tied up for a while too so there's no title to fight for. Ramplod, then Anderson at 205.
