SF Shutting shop when their TV ends? Empty SF Shutting shop when their TV ends?

Does anyone know long SF's current TV deal ends? I think where Hendo goes will show us what Zuffa are going to do with Strikeforce.

We have seen Shields and Diaz come over as champs. Pretty much every big SF fighter has at least talked the possibility of going over and who they want to fight.

What I dont understand is how the fighers contracts work, SF has their contract not the TV station so shouldnt they be able to end them as and when the please and allow them to go to Zuffa.

Sure SF has to put on a certain amount of TV shows before they can close down but I dont understand why the fighers cant already move over. Couldnt they put on shows with the lowest level fighters and move the better ones to UFC or am I missing something. Im not getting why when Zuffa bought them they couldnt do what they wanted with the fighters?

I think Hendo has both options open to him,he could try and see if he can hang with the top UFC LHW's still and I'm sure ZUFFA would be more than happy letting him try,but I'm sure ZUFFA would be just as happy letting him be the main man in Strikeforce, headlining cards until they can shut strikeforce down.

I think some of the Strikeforce roster actually have contracts with Showtime,so they would have to obligate them before they could move on,basically i think that's all ZUFFA are waiting for before they close the curtains on strikeforce.

Fedor's contract was somehow just with showtime, that's how M1 got showtime to agree to airing 4 M1 events this year on Showtime.

I have a feeling that Melendez's contract has something to do with Showtime as well,so he's stuck there until it runs out, shame because I really want to see him in the UFC LW picture as soon as possible, there's so many great battles we need to see him in.

I know the original deal was 3 years in 2009 (So It ends in 2012) and I found this article which states Showtime have the option of extending the deal for a further 2 years.

    http://www.fightopinion.com/2011/03/14/zuffa-showtime-contract-2014/

It seems pretty obvious that If the latter is the case that Zuffa are doing the best to bury the brand and attempt to put Showtime off extending a deal.
